Carindale, one of the eastern suburbs of Brisbane, is situated 10 kilometers from the central business district. The suburb is bounded by Belmont, Carina, Carina Heights and Mackenzie. Old Cleveland Road cuts through the middle of Carindale and is marked by the Gateway Motorway to the east and Creek Road to the west.

The suburb is home to the Pacific Golf Club and is widely known for its massive shopping centre – Westfield Shopping Centre, which houses hundreds of stores. Carindale is filled with large estates, two- storey brick houses or ‘mini-mansions’ – an evidence of its high socio-economic condition.


Carindale has a population of 15,577 as per the 2011 census, 51.6% of which are females and 48.4% are males with a median age of 40 years old – 3 years above the Australian median age.

Although the only public transport available is by bus, they run frequently with multiple bus stops giving access to other areas for commuter-residents. Carindale is great for cyclists as it has multiple bike tracks all scattered in the area. Also, being connected to arterial roads such as Old Cleveland Road and Creek Road grants easy access to the CBD.


As far as education goes, Carindale has two state schools within its area – Carina State School and Belmont State School which caters to students from Prep to Year 6. Comparably, Mt Gravatt East State School and Mayfield State School, both located close by, also cater to students from Prep to Year 6. Carindale also have Christian Heritage College. Aside from public schools, residents have the option to send their kids to Citipointe Christian College, which caters to students from Prep to Year 12.


Carindale is best described as the shopping district of Brisbane being the central location of the the largest shopping centre in Queensland – Westfield Carindale. However, the suburb has more to offer other than just shopping. The suburb has multiple parks in the area, providing its residents a lush leafy environment and a wide selection of restaurants for food lovers. Carindale is also the home of one of the best golf courses of Brisbane – the Pacific Golf Club.
